Afrobeat, James Brown Style

To keep the music varied on this blog, i'm going to introduce many people to afrobeat, but a funked-up version of it. From Nigeria an artist called Seun Kuti has really caught my ears, with afrobeat combined with jazz and funk but with very gritty and dark lyrics. He plays with a famous backing band his late father formed called Egypt 80, who i have heard his father Fela was also a very talented musician. Seun Kuti's lyrics are very dark and relate to the plight of Africa in the present day and they are thought provoking. Right here are two songs from Seun Kuti and Egypt 80, hope you enjoy!
